TNO supports Atradius Dutch State Business as an independent technical adviser in assessing applications for Innovation Cover. By combining TNO’s technological expertise with Atradius DSB’s financial and insurance expertise, innovative investment plans can be carefully assessed.
Financing instrument for promising technologies
Innovative companies often possess promising technologies, but at the same time struggle to attract funding. Particularly when a technology has not yet been applied on a large scale, financiers find it difficult to accurately assess its technical feasibility and the associated risks. Partly for this reason, Atradius DSB offers Innovation Cover, a financing instrument for Dutch companies operating within the priority key technologies set out in the National Technology Strategy (NTS) and which have export potential. For applications received for Innovation Cover, Atradius DSB works in partnership with TNO.
Independent technical assessment
As an independent knowledge partner, TNO assesses whether the technology described in an application aligns with the National Technology Strategy (NTS) and determines the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the technology. Atradius DSB uses these technical insights in its further assessment of the application.
